Back to team Dr. Tom Kalb Associate Medical Director Contact Dr. Tom Kalb is board-certified in Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Internal Medicine. He has considerable experience in the academic environment and is a practicing Intensivist. Dr. Kalb has been a valued member of the Advanced ICU Care team since 2012. As an Associate Medical Director for Advanced ICU Care Dr. Kalb works closely with staff physicians to ensure quality care. He also collaborates with other clinical managers to define and improve clinical practice delivery models. Prior to joining Advanced ICU Care, Dr. Kalb held several leadership positions at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Most recently, he was the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit and led the Medical Center’s Critical Care Committee. He has held several academic appointments at Mount Sinai for over two decades and has won numerous teaching awards as director of the Pulmonary Course and Chair of the Medical School Curriculum Committee. He is an Associate Professor and remains actively involved in research, with ongoing publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. Dr. Kalb completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, as well as a Research Fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine, at Mount Sinai Medical Center-Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein School of Medicine.
