Advanced ICU Care Launches its Tele-ICU Services in Ohio with Upper Valley Medical Center

St. Louis, MO – <March 3, 2017> – Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading provider of high-acuity telehealth services, announced the launch of tele-ICU services at Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC). UVMC, part of Premier Health System, serves an area north of Dayton, Ohio and represents Advanced ICU Care’s first hospital partner in the state of Ohio.

UVMV is the recipient of national and Upper Valley Camera-Inregional recognition for quality and excellence, including from US News & World Report and The Joint Commission. Advanced ICU Care is supporting UVMC with intensivist-led clinical teams working from the company’s eight care centers. A secure data stream of patient information and two-way audio-video capabilities enables the highly trained remote care teams of physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses to actively engage in patient care, ensuring around-the-clock availability of critical care expertise.

“A key benefit of the partnership is knowing that patients are being vigilantly monitored by experienced intensivists when their bedside physician is not present in the room with the patient,” said Jennifer Hauler, D.O., Chief Medical Officer of the Premier Health northern region. “This partnership will provide added support and expertise, aiming to ensure emerging issues can be dealt with as quickly as possible.”

“UVMC is the first hospital in the region, as well as the first hospital in the Premier Health System, to implement a tele-ICU program. This new tele-ICU partnership is part of our commitment to continually innovate and improve services for our patients and our community,” said Becky Rice, President of UVMC. “The partnership will be monitored by a Premier Health system-wide ICU team to explore the benefit of tele-ICU for the entire system.”

“Our partnership with Upper Valley Medical Center represents a strong alliance between critical care experts enabled by advanced telemedicine technology and their skilled bedside counterparts,” said Lou Silverman of Advanced ICU Care. “We are extremely pleased to work with such a quality partner to improve care to benefit the health and safety of our shared patients and expand our services into Ohio.”
